Le Phenix

The historical building of the "Red Hat " where Mr. De Nemours, Governor of Lyon, Forez and Beaujolais (1531 -1585) slept, was established as a hotel, since the 16th century. It was the meeting place for actors, actresses and all artists who performed along the banks of the river Saone. The old Lyon is now an international, historical and protected site. In the 1990, the hotel was bought by the present owners and includes three connecting buildings from the 16th and 17th centuries. After two years of refurbishing, the hotel with its Florentine architectural design, reopened. It is an elegant, refined and superbly decorated hotel keeping to its traditions with a modern touch. It has 36 rooms, 11 of which are junior suites, conferences rooms and arched entrance hall, 18th century fireplaces, panelling and preserved historical columns which have been restored and classified. Garage is available, but if a space is needed, it has to be requested at the time of booking because they do not have many space. (charge is 13.50 euros per 24 hours)
