Hotel Herad Iceland is a 3 star hotel in the centre of Egilsstadir, the capital of the East Iceland. From Egilsstadir it is only a short distance to all the places of interest in the Eastern Region, whether it is the fjords, Borgarfjordur in the east, or to the Mt. Snaefell Mountains. Hotel Herad , built in 1998, increased in size when it opened a new wing on 1st June 2004, offering a further 24 standard rooms, bringing the total to 60 rooms over 3 floors. On the ground floor of the new wing is a conference / meeting room with seating capacity for upto 120 people. With this new facility as well as the existing meeting room on the first floor - all excellently equipped, Hotel Herad Iceland is a good choice and very well suited for conferences and larger meetings outside Reykjavik. The comfortable bar at the hotel has a balcony where you can enjoy the midnight sun, while relaxing after an exciting day. The restaurant offers a tasty menu, exciting starters, fresh fish dishes, Icelandic lamb, East-Icelandic Reindeer steak, the pride of the house and delicious desserts.
