Alter Speicher
Hotel Alter Speicher in its present form was built in 1989 as the most modern and biggest hotel of the old town of Lubeck till today. A redecoration of the rooms and washrooms happened at the beginning of 2002. Like that we have beautiful new rooms with a design of artist Hundertwasser (a modern artist). All rooms have shower, toilets, telephone, mini-bar, radio, phone stop windows, etc. There are 45 rooms with 3 suites that have whirlpools and one family apartment. The private hotel is still managed by Birgit and Juergen Lentz, who built the hotel. An attentive and trained team cares of our guests. There is a restaurant for groups and special arrangements, three conference rooms, old town garden, elevator, sauna, solarium and a fitness room. Our restaurant offers everything with inquiry up to 120 persons. Because of its central location in the old town (UNESCO Weltkulturgut), you can get to the hotel easily and all sights are reached within short distance; about 10 minutes by feet. There are a lot of parking spots on the Wallhalbinsel or in a lot of multi-storey car park in town in a circle of 5 minutes around the hotel. For individual tourists there are more than 300 restaurants, bistros, and bars of each style in Luebeck. Our colleagues will be happy to advise you. Also for groups the Alter Speicher is an ideal starring point for shopping and sight seeing. In that business we are active since our beginning and the name Alter Speicher is popular for that. In this case it is not surprising, that it is necessary to order two years in advance, considering the dates with a peak of demand, to stand a fair chance of booking. Overbooking is in fact here just as unusual as lodging the guests out of the hotel. It is for certain that the guests who book the Hotel Alter Speicher will stay here, as a guaranty of the owners. The Hansestadt Lubeck with his old tradition as queen of the Hanse offers everything that tourists wish to see, because of that it is one three beautifulness towns of Germany.
