Palais-hotel Erzherzog Johann

The Palais Hotel Erzherzog Johann is situated in the heart of the old town of Graz, in the immediate vicinity of the main square. Most sights, like the Uhrturm (clock tower), the Kunsthaus (House of Art), the Murinsel (island in the Mur River) and the congress centre of Graz are within walking distance. The building had been the largest inn within city limits since the 16th century. In the 18th century it grew into a "Palais" with wonderfully designed rooms which, in 1852 was gradually changed into an upper-class hotel. The "Wintergarden Restaurant", located in the Barock-style inner yard of the hotel is without a doubt the center-point of the house, and that, not just because of the location and sumptuous vegetation, but mainly due to the excellent cuisine served. The traditional ?Viennese? Cafe offers homemade sweets, snacks and cakes, a large variety of local and international newspapers and magazines and the glass of cold water on the side complimentary with the coffee. The ideal meeting place for locals and tourists alike in the centre of the city. Guests can also find the famous "Ernst Fuchs Bar" here, which was designed using drafts and paintings by Austrian painter Ernst Fuchs. The hotel has 4 parking spaces, available for an additional cost and subject to availability. For more parking spaces the hotel has an agreement with the nearby underground K&O parking garage at reduced rates. All the individually furnished rooms reflect the elegant atmosphere of the former baroque palace and come furnished with beautiful antiques. Guests will have free access to the sauna, sun-deck and fitness centre.
