Laugavegur, the city's main shopping street, is just around the corner, and a few minutes walking arrives to the old city centre, with dozens of bars and restaurants, throbbing with night and day life, or to what the Icelanders refer to as the new city centre, an extravagant mall with over a hundred shops, restaurants and the city theatre.
