The Granary
A hidden treasure ! The Granary at Wandylaw is elevated on the hillside to make the most of the fabulous views of the Northumberland Heritage Coast from Holy Island to Bamburgh Castle and the Farne Islands to Beadnell and beyond. Nestled amongst fields we are in a lovely tranquil setting just a mile from the A1 (which is unseen and unheard) so ideally located for visitors to explore the Castles and Coastline of Northumberland and also for business travellers who want a quiet and peaceful retreat. This recent conversion of the old stone built Granary at Wandylaw Farm Steadings has been finished to exceptionally high standards. Our detached home has 3 luxury guest rooms which offer comfort and genuine Northumbrian hospitality. The Garden Room is ground floor with its own private easy access and also has a sun room with sofa and table and chairs opening onto the patio and south facing walled garden. Castle View is a large room with mahogany king sleigh bed and spectacular views of Bamburgh Castle and the Northumbrian coastline from Beadnell right up to Lindisfarne. The Snug has a king bed and ensuite with bath and shower above with lovely views of the walled garden and surrounding countryside. All rooms have travertine tiled ensuite with Villeroy and Boch sanitary ware and soft close toilets freeview TV DVD player with video library table and leather chairs (the Garden Room and Castle View also have a sofa) bathrobes slippers hairdryer and tea and coffee making facilities. Alnwick is just a 10 minutes drive away Bamburgh Seahouses and the coast approx 10 minutes Alnmouth approx 20 mins and Berwick is approx 30 minutes away by car. Local attractions include Alnwick Castle and Gardens Holy Island (Lindesfarne) Chillingham Farne Islands Bamburgh Seahouses Alnmouth The Chevoits Hills and much much more. There are lots of golf courses nearby and several activities such as riding fishing walking cycling shooting and surfing to name just a few. There are two pubs within 3 miles (The White Swan at Warenford and The Pack Horse at Ellingham) both serving food and local ales. We have a friendly reliable taxi driver who will be pleased to take you wherever you wish to go We have a generous breakfast menu including Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Eggs Craster Kippers Omelettes and of course Full English Breakfast with Carters Butchers award winning Bamburgh Banger sausages local bacon and black pudding free range eggs as well as vegetarian options. Breakfast can be served in your room or in the dining room overlooking the south facing walled garden or if you wish alfresco in the walled garden !
