Piersland Lodge was built in 1899 by William Leiper as the home for Sir Alexander Walker grandson of Johnnie Walker founder of the Scotch Whisky firm Johnnie Walker. Sir Alexander was Managing Director of Johnnie Walker whisky and created Johnnie Walker Red and Black label.The property which is located opposite the Royal Troon Golf Course world renowned location of the British Open Golf Championship remained a family home until 1956 and is now a hotel retaining the original country house character. Piersland House is a Grade A building. All original features remain: including wood carvings stone fireplaces wood paneling and a Jacobean embroidery frieze worked by the Tapestiere to King George V.Keeping to the Whisky theme each bedroom is based on a malt Whisky distillery or family. All bedrooms have been fully updated while ensuring their original charm remains. Each room has full facilities and a room service menu is available.
