This 500 hectare 17th century estate is only 20kms from Florence and has always belonged to the same noble Florentine family. The scenery recalls the set of the film La Notte di San Lorenzo by the Taviani brothers filmed in the vineyards wheat fields and olive groves of the estate. Gioconda welcomes guests and shows them round the estate. This includes the 16th century manor house still inhabited by the owners; the fattoria or farm where two of the guest apartments I Pini and La Spiga are situated and the cellar storing the extra virgin olive oil and wine produced on the estate Chianti Colli Fiorentini. The other apartments Le Rose La Cappellina etc are situated inside the small stone-built hamlet 600 m. away with the local restaurant (not run by the estate owners) where guests can savour the delicious culinary specialities of the area. On a small country road between the village and the farm (300 mt) there is another farmhouse Podere Masso restored in 2003 with 4 very comfortable apartments.
