The charming SORAT Hotel just off Marienplatz in the town centre opened its hand-carved doors in 1993 in a delightfully restored Jugendstil merchant's house. After much collaboration with the local authorities on how best to preserve this listed building the imposing Jungendstil facade was restored complete with its oriel tower and the ornamental plasterwork in the rooms was carefully restored and painted in original tones as was the highly ornate reception area. Our 46 rooms are highly individual and come in a wide range of styles and sizes from period oriel rooms or rooms with balconies to romantic garrets. Furnishings are kept in a predominantly Jugendstil style in order to suit the character of the building. Meanwhile the rooms also come with all modern comforts such as shower and bath with WC direct-dial telephone fax connection minibar and cable TV. All parts of the hotel have disabled access and we have three separate rooms for disabled guests. One of the oriel rooms is also a conference room for up to 20 people featuring plenty of natural daylight and its own charming atmosphere under the stucco.
