In times of the Roman empire Tyrol already was an important junction for all journeys from north to south and east to west. There were two ways to travel to Augsburg (Augusta Videlicorum). The first leaded the way via Reschenpass and the second via the Brenner. That was the why Schönberg became famous in this early times. From this time on till now of course a lot of things changed. The Schönachhofs owners (Fam. Lanthaler) started as farmers and the way to an international standard was started by Vinzenz and Helene Lanthaler und continued by the actual owners Klaus and Margarete Lanthaler. Who were also responsible for the upgrade of the hotel to a 3-star classified tourism location with international standards.
